Trust and AI safety
Plain-English answers to the questions that matter.
The job hunt is already a vulnerable moment. We don’t want to add to the pile of things you have to worry about. Here is exactly what Fitted does with your data, what the AI sees, what guardrails are in place, and what we won’t do.
We don't sell your data. Ever.
Not to advertisers, not to recruiters, not to the people building the next AI model. The privacy policy spells out exactly what we share and with whom (Supabase for auth + storage, Anthropic for AI processing, Stripe for payments).
We try to strip personal info before AI sees it
Before your resume goes to Anthropic, we run a regex pass that removes US-format emails, phones, addresses, and major social URLs. The pass is best-effort, not a guarantee. Names of past employers, schools, and international formats are not stripped. If anything in your resume should never reach an AI, redact it before uploading.
Our AI has safety controls
We have multiple layers in place to keep the model on task and to make sure outputs are appropriate before they reach you. If something does slip through that shouldn't have, email support@imfitted.com and we'll review it directly.
We don't claim Fitted will get you a job
Fitted is a tool. Tools strengthen applications. They don't decide who gets hired. Anyone telling you otherwise (especially anyone selling you a $30/month subscription) should be treated with suspicion. The FTC has refunded more than $15M to consumers misled by career-tools that overpromised.
The short list.
What we do
- Store your resume so you can tailor it to multiple jobs without re-uploading
- Send sanitized resume + JD content to Anthropic's Claude API to generate output
- Let you delete your account and all associated data at any time
- Give a verified .edu signup 5 extra credits at no cost
- Log usage events to PostHog so we can see which features actually work
What we don’t do
- Sell, rent, or share your data with marketers, recruiters, or training-data brokers
- Auto-renew anything. There's no subscription. Credits don't expire
- Use your resume to train AI models. Anthropic's API terms prohibit this
- Promise outcomes (interviews, offers, salaries). We're a tool, not a placement service
- Use AI-generated images of fake testimonials, fake people, or fake company logos
The technical details
Where your data lives
Account info, resumes, and analyses are stored in Supabase (Postgres + storage). Supabase data lives on AWS infrastructure in the United States. Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Row-level security policies scope every read/write to the authenticated user.
What Anthropic sees
When you tailor a resume or generate a cover letter, we send a sanitized version of your resume and the job description to Claude (Anthropic’s API). Per Anthropic’s API terms, content sent through the API is not used to train AI models. Anthropic may retain prompt content for a limited period (currently up to 30 days) for trust-and-safety and abuse monitoring. See Anthropic’s privacy policy.
Keeping the AI on task
We treat anything you upload as data, not instructions to the model. There are multiple layers of controls designed to keep the AI focused on the requested task (tailoring a resume, writing a cover letter, prepping for an interview) rather than wandering off into general chat or producing content that has nothing to do with your job search.
When something looks off
If an output ever contains profanity, hate speech, or text that clearly doesn’t belong in a resume or cover letter, that’s a bug, not a feature. Email support@imfitted.com with a description and we’ll investigate within one business day.
Deleting your data
Account settings includes a delete option. Click it and we remove your profile, resumes, and analyses within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (we keep payment records to comply with tax requirements). Email privacy@fitted.ai if you need this expedited.
